Malt VinegarMalt vinegars are very popular in England. It has a unique richness and character to it. There are different ways of making malt vinegar. One way it can be made is by malting grain which causes the starch in the grain to turn to sugar. The sugar is then turned into an ale, which is then turned into a vinegar and aged. Carmel is often added to give the malt vinegar a darker color. Malt vinegar is extremely popular on English fish and chips. Vegetables and fish can be pickled in it as well. A standard portion only contains approximately 1 calorie.
