Martin Luther King lead a Black bus boycott. He and ninety other were arrested. In 1963 Dr. King's a letter from Birmingham Jail inspired a growing national civil rights movement. Their goal was to completely end the system of segregation in every aspect of public life no separate bathrooms, drinking fountains and job discrimination. Dr. King led a massive march in 1963 at Washington DC where he delivered his now famous, "I Have a Dream" speech. | ![]() |
