A triangle is a figure that
has three sides and three
angles. The area of a triangle
is equal to 1/2 of the base (b)
multiplied by the height (h).The
height is an altitude drawn from
the base to the opposite angle.
a = 1/2 bh
Example: If a triangle has a base of
6 inches and a height of 2 inches,
the area would be half of 6 inches,
which
is
3 inches, times 2 inches
equal
to 6 inches.
A = (1/2 x 6) x 2
A = 3 x 2
A = 6 in.
