Ground water is trapped underground in layers of rock, this is called an aquifer.
|
Ground water is stored water under the surface of the Earth that can be tapped, or welled, for use. Ground water is water that has soaked in through the soil either from rain, snow or run-off. When you see a river or stream, the water is not just flowing along in the river, it is also trapped underground beyond the banks of the river.
