Site Statement Maurits Cornelis Escher was one of the most influential graphic and illusionary artists to ever live. His extremely mathematical work has been appreciated by people from all over the world. Escher applied important artistic elements in all of his work and forced viewers to truly think critically about what they were looking at. He portrayed many different concepts in his work and appealed to all different types of people, making him very successful. This site's purpose is to present a biography of Escher's life which shows the connections between his life events and his artwork. This site also proves Escher's work worthy of technical merit by analyzing it according to elements and principles of art. Lastly, it explains the different styles that Escher created and incorporated into his work. |
