Cinder Cone Volcanoes

A steep, cone-shaped hill or mountain. When the lava thickness and becomes stiff, it may produce ash, cinders and bombs. These materials pile up around the vent in a steep, cone-shaped pile. Some examples include Paricutin in Mexico. This volcano erupted in 1943 in a farmer's cornfield. The volcano built up a cinder cone about 400 meters high.
