Health Education

In the Fall of 2008 I will began classes at Willamette University in pursuit of a Masters of Arts in Teaching. My goal is to teach the subject of Health at the Middle School level. The following information is a sampling of the volunteer, job shadow, and internship experiences I have had in the filed of Health Education as well as working with Middle School aged kids.

Teaching Experiences:

Sprague High School Lacrosse Assistant

  • Assisted men’s lacrosse team in practices and drills, ran skill building drills, shared general lacrosse knowledge with High School students                      

Western Oregon University Lacrosse Camp Leader

September 2007

  • Lead High School students in an instructional camp for lacrosse skills such as team defense, team offences, catching and passing, and field communication.

Internship, Middle School Health Class

Ron Russell Middle School – Portland, Oregon

60 total hours between September 2005-October 2005

  • Helped create and lead lesson plans, ran classroom discussion, worked one on one with students, graded papers, experienced teaching in a classroom.

  • Observed classroom teaching, assisted in creating lesson plans, lead lesson and discussion with students.
