7th Grade English/Social Studies

Welcome to 7th Grade Block. This is an exciting year! We will be building on the foundation created in your previous year at Walker so that you will be well prepared for the 8th grade.

Our English class is a writing intense class. When some hear "writing intense" the assumption is that one is expected to create volumes of writing that may or may not be worthy of sharing. That is not always the case. We believe that it isn't always the amount that makes for well crafted writing, but the amount of time crafting while using the writing process that makes for a good writer. This class focuses on the craft of writing.

In our Social Studies class, we focus on Geography. We will study places around the world and see how the Five Themes of Geography make studying each part of the world easier.

English Language Development is a class that allows us not only to practice our English language speaking skills, but our writing skills as well. We will practice grammar, sentence structure, and language fluency.

We will be very busy...the year will fly by! :)
