Use Algebra To Solve Puzzle

Solving Equations:

First, try and think about what it is you need to do to get "X=..."

You can get X by itself by doing the opposite.

Don't forget to do this to both sides.

Adding is the opposite of Subrtracting and Multiplication is the opposite of Division.

Example:

X+3=5

Now do the opposite of adding 3 to both sides of the equal sign.

X+3-3=X

5-3=2

Now we know that X=2

The same goes for multiplication:

5*X=15

5*X/5=X

15/5=3

Therefore X=3
