What is a chamber?

• The chamber is sometimes called the magma chamber. The chamber is an underground pool, in the Earth's crust, that holds molten rock, which is also known as magma.

• The magma in the chamber is under great pressure. When the pressure builds up, the magma is forced through the conduit, and out through the main vent.
