playing audio / video through webEx is hit and miss according to local machine and internet traffic... send externally via link advance of meeting, download locally, direct students to play video or audio

students do not have to have an account to join a meeting

how to control access: create unique meeting room using "schedule meeting", and selectively choose participants, can give them passwords, then have control to remove participants if a fight breaks out

"pin" who's talking, will shift video to various participants, 

if wi fi is slow, direct connect network hardware to laptop

can use WOU login account from past existing, don't need to create a new account

get students video and audio, outside of web ex and lead group as a team

webEx has close captioning, but doesn't work well

student discussions between each other are possible if they are unmuted... can get chaotic noise, everyone can hear everyone else

visual camera view - camera strip view, side-by-side view, floating panel view

If network audio isn't working well, there is an option to have users calling in to use phone with visual on laptop... "audio connection" ... call in to phone bridge

closed captioning options - Youtube Channel, upload vido and it will transcribe; also google meets has closed captioning function

Personal room, open, wait in personal room for office hours... students can access room for office hours, and can lock the room to other participants, so they don't overlap.
