Adobe Acrobat Notes

Note: This site uses Adobe Acrobat PDF (portable document files) files. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free
software that is used to view the *.pdf files in conjunction with your web browser. Many computers at WOU already have
Acrobat Reader installed. The following are instructions for those in need of installing Acrobat Reader.

NOTE:

This file is 5.3 MB and may take some time to download if you have a slow internet connection. If so, you may want to start the download late in the evening when network traffic is lighter.


If you are using Internet Explorer...

1) To download a free copy of Acrobat Reader for Windows 95/98 Click Here.

2) If you need another version of Acrobat Reader, go directly to Adobe Software's web site, and follow the links to "products" and Acrobat Reader.

3) Once you download Acrobat Reader to your local hard drive, install the software:

a) Windows - Start - Run - "ar405eng.exe".
b) Follow the instructions in the installation shield.


If you are using Netscape...

1) To download a free copy of Acrobat Reader for Windows 95/98 Right Click Here. and "Save Link As" filename = ar405eng.exe

2) If you need another version of Acrobat Reader, go directly to Adobe Software's web site, and follow the links to "products" and Acrobat Reader.

3) Once you download Acrobat Reader to your local hard drive, install the software:

a) Windows - Start - Run - "ar405eng.exe".
b) Follow the instructions in the installation shield.


When properly installed, Acrobat Reader should automatically pop open whenever your web browser encounters a *.pdf file.
