NCDB Publishes Definition for Intervener Services
and Interveners in Educational Settings


One of the implementation strategies that emerged in the Recommendations for Improving Intervener Services submitted to OSEP in May, 2012, was to develop a consistently applied national definition of intervener services. A small team comprised of NCDB staff and external experts have produced the definition.

A more comprehensive discussion and Technical Report has been published which synthesizes the process and information used by NCDB in the definition. It addresses challenges and questions, provides comparisons between interveners and paraprofessionals, and offers definitions, roles and concepts used by a number of states across the country.
