Plant found in moist areas, or wooded areas. Plants blooming in late spring, or early summer. Plants rhizomatous. Peduncles cylindrical. Peduncle height 1–5 dm tall. Peduncles with leaves. Main axis of peduncle longer than leaves. Leaves whorled. Total number of leaves 3–5. Number of leaves per whorl 3–5. Leaves ovate. Leaves 0.5–2 dm long. Leaves 30–140 mm wide. Leaves basal.
