  • principle unit for measuring ozone conc.
  • 1 DU is ~27 million molecules per cm2
    • the palm of your hand is ~100 cm2

• Mixing ratios

  • a fraction of the number of molecules of a particular gas divided by the total number of molecules in the specified volume
