Chemistry Laboratory Policy

Keeping A Laboratory Notebook: Some Notes

• All laboratory notebook entries must be written in water-proof ink that will not smear.
• Laboratory notebooks will contain a Table of Contents for each academic quarter.
• All laboratory notes must be kept in the laboratory notebook - NOT on scratch paper.
• Each day's work is to be initialed and dated.
• All notebook entries are to be in the appropriate form or style described int "The Organic Chem Survival Manual".
• Physical properties such as boiling point, solubility, density, etc. should be referenced in an appropriate manner.
