Once you have gotten your video and narration tracks completed, it is time to add some music to your video. You can't just go out onto the internet and snag a song to use unless it is in the Creative Commons, royalty free, self-performed or you have the musician's permission to use it. We have a library of royalty free music that is available for you to use. We do not own all the possible music tracks. From the software you can buy a track we don't have if you are feeling rich. The company will happily charge the purchase to your credit card! This music is royalty free because we have purchased a series of music tracks that can be edited, used and distributed in any way we want. What is great about the system we have is that you can use Sonic Fire Pro 5 on a computer to easily generate music tracks of a mood that you like and any length that you need to fill in the audio on your video. The software is easy to use. With the software you can search for tracks in our library that have a particular mood and then tweak them to fit your video. The tweaking takes only a few minutes after you have chosen the music you wish to use. The only problem we have is access. At the moment we have one computer set up for music generation. We will probably be able to get the software on a second computer, but if everyone waits until the last minute to finish their documentaries, music addition will be painful.
The software is not very difficult to use. There are no manuals so you MUST watch the 8 minute video tutorial below before using the software. The program is not something that you will be able to intuitively use if you open it without having watched the tutorial.
If you are feeling creative, here is another tutorial that will allow you to change the mood of your music. You do not need to worry about this more advanced usage of Sonic Fire Pro unless you want to try to experiment with designing music.
