Whales live in all the oceans of the world and migrate in search of food and appropriate breading places throughout the year.
Many whales migrate from colder regions to warmer areas to mate and give birth.
The Gray whales spend their summers in the Artic, swimming in the Bearing and Chukchi Seas along the coast of Siberia and Alaska. When the weather begins to change and it gets chilly, the gentle giants start they trip towards Baja California.
They go south in the Pacific Ocean and in December they arrive off Baja, where they give birth to their babies. When spring arrives, they go back north with their baby calf.
Grey whales travel 5,000 miles each year to reach the warm waters in the coast of Mexico.
It is the biggest distance any mammal covers in a migration.
