What is Geometer's Sketchpad? (GSP)
Click here to go to the main GSP page at the Bennett, Burton, Nelson Online Learning Center. Read about GSP.

Note 1: You DO NOT need to download and unzip the files, They are linked above.

Note 2: WOU has a site license for the GSP software program; you can use the terminal server (or thin clients) to open the GSP software program if you are logged into WOU. In particular, you can use GSP from any campus computer or from home by using the terminal server (see below).

TO COMPLETE YOUR GSP ASSIGNMENTS
(Note: You may drop your lowest GSP score or you may complete all of the GSP assignments for extra credit)

Step One--Pick a Partner
For each GSP assignment; pick a partner, you must complete your GSP assignments in teams of two students. You may have the same partner or different partners for each assignment. This is up to you.

Step Two--Log In to the WOU Network
With your partner, log into the WOU Network.

Step Three--Download GSP File
Right click on the correct link and save a copy of the file in one of your home directories. See Step Eight "Turn In" for the file naming convention. The files are linked here and also linked in the above table.

Step Four--Open GSP

Thin Client Stations
If you are on a Thin Client Station; use the Desktop Icon shortcut or Start > Programs >Geometer's Sketchpad to open Geometer's Sketchpad.

Computer Station
1. Log on to the Terminal Server--ts.wou.edu (Start > Programs >Accessories>Communications>Remote Desktop, or sometimes Start > Programs >Accessories>Remote Desktop)--be sure to log on to Mash, not "this computer". Log in with your usual pawprint name and password

2. Use Start > Programs >Geometer's Sketchpad to open Geometer's Sketchpad in the Terminal Server environment.

Step Five--Open Specific Assignment
Using the file open menu, open the GSP file (that you saved in your personal drive) you wish to work with.

Step Six--Maximize External and Internal GSP Window
CRITICAL! Maximize the main GSP window and also the .gsp file inside the main GSP window to see all of the tabs. You can navigate between the tabs much like in Excel.

Step Seven--Complete Assignment
To complete your assignments; answer each assigned question. Save frequently (use the file menu or CTRL S). When you have completed the assignment, save a back up assignment on an external devise such as a memory key. Make sure BOTH partners have a copy of the assignment.

Step Eight--Turn in Assignment
NOTE:
In addition to your instructor; copy BOTH partners in the email CC field with the email. If your instructor can not "reply all" to both partner's, the assignment will not be accepted.

You must use the following file naming convention, using your names and the correct assignment number (or your assignment will not be accepted):

LastNameOne.LastNameTwo.9.1.gsp

LastNameOne--name of Partner One

LastNameTwo--name of Partner Two

Example: Beisiegel.Burton.9.1.gsp

EMAIL your assignment to Mary Beisiegel (beisiegm@wou.edu); GSP assignments sent via email must be sent as attachments.

GSP electronic assignment submissions are due by midnight on the due date.
