Desert Animals have learned to adapt to the extreme desert temperatures. Animals can live in both hot or cold deserts and have developed various survival tricks. For example, rabbits and other small mammals find caves and hide under things so that they can stay away from the extreme outside temperatures. Camels can travel for long distances through the desert with very little water. Other animals like the lizard in the mojave desert has adapted by changing his color to blend in with the sand and avoid predators. Many desert animals are nocturnal as well, or they only come out at dusk and dawn when the weather is not so hot.
